EMT Bending

Using a bender of the correct trade size designed for bending EMT is very important and our electricians have extended experience in using efficient methods for bending the required trade sizes.

EMT trade sizes 1/2, 3/4, and 1 can be bent with hand benders because of the thinner wall.

We use a mechanical ratchet-type bender for trade sizes1-1/4 and 1-1/2.

We use a power bender for trade sizes 2 and larger.

To bend EMT coming out of a wall, removing the handle and inserting a close nipple is necessary.

Threading a 90 degree pipe elbow onto the nipple and thread the handle into the elbow.

The handle will be parallel to the bender centre. This provides clearance to swing the handle down to make the bend.

Electrical Metallic Tubing (EMT)

All EMT piping is done in accordance with the National Electrical Code (NEC)

We chose EMT pipes from certified vendors, that manufacture the tubes from mild galvanized steel and we provide these main characteristics:

  • Accurate circular cross section and uniform wall thickness which is easy for any          type of adjustment as per electrical bending needs.
  • A defect free interior surface which allows smooth passing through electrical          wires.
  • Reduced electro magnetic field and mechanical protection of the conductors.
  • Due to the malleable pipes there will be lower installation costs and quicker installations.
